HTC: No “Nexus Edition” One Planned

Google announced at Google I/O 2013 that it will soon sell an unlocked Galaxy S4 Developer Edition, aka the “Google Edition,” for $649 that include a pure version of Android Jelly Bean. Several pundits wondered if this meant that HTC, too, might follow in similar footsteps and launch a pure Android device. That’s not the case, however.

“HTC is not currently planning a ‘Nexus Edition’ of the HTC One,” a company spokesperson told TechnoBuffalo in an email statement. The firm does, however, sell a developer version of the HTC One with its own custom Sense software.
