The brand new trailer for Saints Row IV introduces “the President” and all of his ridiculous superpowers. You’ll apparently use them to beat back the alien hordes. The shark hasn’t only been jumped, it’s been thrown in the fridge and nuked.
There is a large collection gamers saying that Saints Row IV looks far too wacky for their tastes. The superpowers, aliens, absurdities and purple color scheme don’t line up with the hardcore gangster world they fall in love with during Saints Row II.
Sure, I get that. I don’t necessarily agree with it, but I understand that those gamers want “X” out of Volition with this series, but they’re getting “Y” instead.
For me? I loved Saints Row: The Third and all of its terrible jokes and crude humor. I’m in the camp that likes Rockstar’s more serious take with Grand Theft Auto, and that means I have plenty of room to enjoy Volition’s completely ridiculous versions of the same genre.
Where do you stand?
Saints Row IV will hit the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms on August 20th, 2013.
