Nokia Promises “Exciting Global Announcement” on Thursday

Nokia said Wednesday that it will make an “exciting global announcement” this Thursday. It also asks the question if we’re ready to “add some color” to the week, which suggests that the company will announce either accessories or a handset in a variety of colors. The event kicks off in New Delhi, India at 12 noon, which is 7:30am in London and 9:30am in Helsinki, and will be streamed online.

Nokia’s last global announcement yielded the Asha 210 with a dedicated WhatsApp button, and we expect this will follow in-line with that tune. The company is also hosting an event in London on May 14 where we’re expecting to see the firm’s next flagship Windows Phone device.

The only hint we have to Nokia’s announcement is the image below, which was titled “surprise.” It kind of looks like a touch home button on a yellow surface, but we honestly have no idea what we’re looking at.
