LG has quietly made some very solid handsets over the past several months, culminating in the Nexus 4 and Optimus G Pro. Whether that’s part of a newfound outlook on the market, or a new focus, is unclear; frankly, that doesn’t matter. The company is confidently striding towards the G2 at the end of May, and possibly a brand new tablet during Q3 of this year.
According to an unsubstantiated report from munhwa.com, the company is hoping to capitalize on its recent mobile success with a possible follow up to its Optimus Pad, which was the company’s one and only tablet. Details surrounding the slate are suspiciously missing—specs, OS, size, etc.—so we’re not yet regarding this one as something to put much stock in. Yet.
Samsung has been a very active Android OEM in recent months, so it’d be nice to see a little outside competition. Of course, with new Kindles, Nexus 7s and even more Galaxy devices being prepped, LG will be jumping back into a very crowded market.
