iPhone 5s - The Next New iPhone

Japanese firm Sharp will reportedly begin production of the displays required for the iPhone 5S in June, according to a report from Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun. Japan Display and LG are also expected to produce the screens for Apple’s next iPhone.

The Japanese news outlet also noted that Sharp’s Kameyama plant, where production is scheduled to take place, has reportedly noted a huge drop off in performance due to a lack of demand for its products. When it operates at full steam, however, the plant is capable of manufacturing 600 million display units per month.

Apple’s iPhone 5S is expected to launch in the fall and, while Apple has denied the reports, rumors suggest that multiple display size options will be available.
