Google Fiber’s rapid expansion is continuing. The company announced recently that Grandview, Missouri recently voted to launch Google Fiber in the area around Kansas City. Google said it will still be “awhile before [it] can build Fiber in Grandview” and that it needs to engineer the network before it gets started.
Google Fiber is already available in Kansas City, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri. The company also says it has plans to launch in Austin, Texas; Provo, Utah and Shawnee, Kansas. The service provides Gigabit Internet speeds and TV programming and has since spurred other smaller Internet companies, such as Century Link, to offer similar services in other markets.
