$15 iPhone 4 “Antennagate” Checks in the Mail

check-iphone-4-settlement

Remember antennagate? It happened way back when Apple launched the iPhone 4 and users found that, by holding the iPhone a specific way, the device’s cell signal dropped off significantly. Consumers were furious and some decided to file a class action lawsuit. Apple originally said people were simply holding their phones wrong, but a court disagreed and eventually Apple decided to settle the suit in the form of a $15 check.

Those checks are now arriving.

A screen shot of one of the payments was obtained by 9to5Mac and it states that the payout represents a settlement in the lawsuit with Apple. The check must be cashed by July 16, 2013, and Apple advises that you seek your own tax advice.
