During its quarterly earnings call this afternoon, Apple announced that its iCloud service has hit a milestone of 300 million users.

While no information was shared about what extent consumers are using the service, the 300 million user number is a mighty leap from the 250 million the company announced in Jan. during its last quarterly earnings, and the 125 million it announced in April 2012. The number definitely puts iCloud, however, in the top tier of cloud services currently on the market.

No information was shared as to what new features may be upcoming, but Apple said there are definitely some new developments for the service are on the horizon.
