HTC’s upcoming M4 handset, which is expected to be similar to the company’s First but with an UltraPixel camera, is reportedly set to hit in June. According to DigiTimes, HTC has wrapped up negotiations with Catcher Technology to become an exclusive supplier of the M4‘s metal-alloy chassis. So, in essence, it’ll be like a mini One built with premium materials, but aimed at the lower-end crowd.
By partnering with Catcher, HTC is hoping to ship around 700,000 units during Q2 of this year. Neither company has commented on the rumor, which can be read either way. DigiTimes said HTC is going with one supplier to cut back on possible shortages when the device launches.
