Pantech announced its Vega Iron flagship Android smartphone on Thursday. The device packs a 5-inch display with an amazingly slim 2.4mm bezel—that means there’s just a tiny slice of plastic between the screen and the side of the phone—which Pantech says offers the world’s “highest full-screen aspect ratio.”
The Vega Iron is also equipped with a 2,150mAh battery, a 1.7Ghz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, a metal antenna and Gigabit Wi-Fi. Pantech said that Gigabit Wi-Fi provides data transfer speeds that are three times faster than 802.11n Wi-Fi networks and four times faster than LTE networks. It promises that the Vega Iron is capable of downloading a 1GB HD movie in just 20 seconds using Gigabit Wi-Fi.
The device will launch in white and black and runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, but Pantech didn’t announce an exact release date, pricing or launch markets.
