Yet another iPad 5 case has leaked and, again, several photos of it suggest that the next generation iPad from Apple will be thinner than the current model. The cases pictured above were obtained by Engadget, which spotted them at the Hong Kong Electronics Fair. It’s hard for us to judge from the photos alone, but Engadget said the case is indeed thinner and is narrower than the fourth generation iPad.
As a side note: we need to take all of these with a grain of salt because it’s very common for case manufacturers to try to guess the specs of a new Apple product ahead of launch.
We imagine this means that the iPad 5 will likely resemble the iPad mini in terms of industrial design, and that, since Apple will no doubt keep the same screen size, it will have less of a bezel around the display. We don’t know what else the iPad 5 will offer, but presumably it’s going to ship with a faster processor and a few other upgrades. Hopefully Apple tells us a bit about iOS 7, too.
Production of the iPad 5 is allegedly set to begin in July or August, which suggests we’ll see it hit the market sometime in the late summer or early fall.
