Facebook is currently in discussions to bring a form of Facebook Home to iOS and to Windows Phone, a company executive recently said. The end result may not look exactly like Facebook Home does on Android, but the company is still trying to court Apple and Microsoft to deliver some form of all-encompassing experience.
“It may or may not be Home,” Facebook product director Adam Mosseri told Bloomberg. “We could also just bring some of the design values to the iOS app. That might be how it ends up. Or we could build just the lockscreen. Maybe then it’s not called Home, it’s called something else.” Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that it has an open conversation with Apple to continue to deliver immersive experiences to iOS users, although, to play devil’s advocate, the company has yet to create a solid iPad application.
As for how Facebook plans to generate revenue from Facebook Home? Zuckerberg said that he’s “sure at some point” ads will be integrated into the platform.
