Check Out Mirror’s Edge in Virtual Reality on the Oculus Rift

If you thought playing Team Fortress 2 on the Oculus Rift Virtual Reality headset looked a little intense, then be sure to check out how Mirror’s Edge looks. The term “gut wrenching” comes to mind as DICE’s free-running first-person platformer made me feel queasy on even just a normal screen.

If you’ve ever wanted to experience flying through the skyline of a freakishly white city, or getting a first-person view of plummeting to your death from the top of a skyscraper, then this is the best option to walk away from the experience alive. Mirror’s Edge‘s tough platforming and great aesthetic is ideal for virtual reality.

Users with a Oculus Rift dev-kit must download Vierio Perception and the FOV Mod to play the game.

In the meantime, I enjoyed my lunch just an hour or two ago, and since I would like to keep it, I think I’ll pass. That YouTube video is even too much for me.

The Oculus Rift is a virtual reality headset that was created after a successful $2.4 million dollar Kickstarter campaign. Dev-Kits have been sent out already to donators, but no release date has been confirmed for a consumer edition.
