If your third generation Apple TV is being affected by spotty Wi-Fi issues, you can go to a store right now to exchange it. According to documents acquired by 9to5Mac, the Cupertino-based company has openly admitted some devices are experiencing issues—issues include an inability to locate a Wi-Fi network, some units are unable to join a network and some units drop or have intermittent connections—so if your device falls into a specific serial range, you’re eligible to get a new one.

Official retail stores, AppleCare employees and authorized resellers have all been informed, and exchanges are being offered free of charge up to two years after your device’s purchase date, according to the leaked internal document. It’s unclear why some models are being affected and why some aren’t, but 9to5Mac speculates the change over to Broadcom wireless chips may be the root of the problem.
