EA and Maxis have announced the release date and some details for the Mac version of SimCity, the game that brought a lot of frustration and joy to gamers when it hit PCs nearly a month ago.
Here’s the full announcement from EA and Maxis as it was posted on Facebook this morning:
Good news, Mac Mayors – SimCity for Mac is releasing worldwide on June 11. Better yet, owning one version will get you both. Want to play with your friend on a Mac? You can do that, too.
That post links to a full forum post on EA’s official message board. You can hop over there to read even more specifics about the Mac bound news.
But, the biggest points are obvious. The release date is June 11th, Mac and PC users will be able to play together and buying one version gets you the other one for free. Already own it on your PC but want to put it on your Mac too? You’ll be able to do that without additional cost on June 11th.
Hopefully the influx of Mac users doesn’t cripple the SimCity servers once more.
