Offices at Samsung’s Asan, South Korea headquarters were raided by police on Tuesday over the possible theft of LG OLED TV technology. According to a report from Bloomberg, the authorities searched for documents related to the tech, alleging partners of LG may have leaked trade secrets to Samsung. Both companies have apparently been subject to criminal probes since last year.

In response to the allegations, a Samsung spokeswoman said the company already has the world’s best OLED technology, so it has absolutely no reason to steal. LG also commented on the issue, saying it did not rat out Samsung, and that the police came to the conclusion of theft themselves.

Whatever lead to the raid, police obviously had enough of a reason to investigate Samsung, though whether the company was actually handed LG secrets remains to be seen. In July of last year, six LG employees were charged with stealing OLED technology from Samsung.
