Google Play Store for Android Gets a Fresh Coat of Paint

As expected, Google announced on Tuesday that it updated its Google Play store on Android with a new look. Google said its goal was to create a design that highlighted its music, app, magazine and video selection by focusing on “bigger images that jump off the page.”

“As you move down the page, new recommendations continue to appear so there is always more to see and explore,” Google said, noting that it’s easier to purchase content then ever before. We haven’t received the update ourselves just yet — it’s rolling out to Android 2.2 devices and newer over the next several weeks — but, based off of the images alone, we kinda dug the old design a bit more.
