Samsung is about to release two smartphones with screens bigger than any other device the firm has launched before. The phones are currently dubbed the Galaxy Mega 6.3 and the Galaxy Mega 5.8, and both devices include display sizes that match up with the names. Right now the largest phone from Samsung is the Galaxy Note II with a 5.5-inch screen.

Samsung will launch two models of the Galaxy Mega 6.3, including one with support for two SIM cards. SamMobile said the phone will pack a 1.7GHz dual-core processor, an 8-megapixel camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat, 1.5GB of RAM and Bluetooth 4.0 The device will also sport a 3,200mAh battery and will either run Android 4.2.2 or the slightly older Android 4.1.2, SamMobile said.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Mega 5.8 will offer slightly lower specs. It will ship with support for two SIMs, a 960 x 540-pixel display, a 1.4GHz dual-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera and a smaller 2,600mAh battery. That means the Galaxy Mega 6.3 will be the larger and faster or the two phones, and will have a larger battery likely to support the bigger screen.

An earlier report from SamMobile said the phones will launch in either late-May or mid-June.
