Facebook will almost certainly announce its own Android-powered smartphone on Thursday. The first image of the device was published by evleaks on Tuesday evening and now a fresh image that was published to Chinese social network Weibo shows three new colors. The shot above suggests Facebook and its carrier partners will sell the phone in red, light blue, white and black (as we saw yesterday).

This isn’t HTC’s first foray into “Facebook phone” territory. The company released two devices—the ChaChaCha and the Salsa—with dedicated Facebook buttons and beefed up software, but the devices were largely viewed as a flop in the United States (the ChaChaCha was launched as the Status on AT&T). Can the HTC First change that?

Mark Zuckerberg will have to prove so tomorrow.
