Google released an update to its Gmail for iPhone application on Wednesday that includes several new features. Users will now be able to swipe left or right to move through new or old messages without having to back out and revisit the inbox. You can also archive, delete or file away messages much easier thanks to a the new “actions” bar. Edit mode can be activated by tapping on a message, Google said.

Gmail for iPhone also includes fixes for bugs and¬†performance¬†improvements, although we have to admit it’s already a pretty snappy and stable application.
