Apple TV Living Room Close Up

Apple’s iTV may offer Siri, it may change the way we watch TV and it may revolutionize our living rooms. Or something along those lines, if you believe every rumor about the unannounced device. It may also pack a 4K “ultra HD” display, according to a new report that surfaced on Wednesday.

DigiTimes said it learned that Apple’s TV will have a resolution of 2840 x 2160-pixels, also known as 4K UHD. Several televisions with that resolution were unveiled during this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, although the price tags still make them prohibitively expensive.

Foxconn has reportedly been tapped to build the TVs and LG is on board to supply the panels, although Apple hasn’t finalized an agreement with LG yet. DigiTimes said Apple’s planning to launch the TV either late this year or early next year.
