The HTC One will launch in North America in April. HTC, however, has another phone in the works: a successor to the HTC Butterfly, also known as the DROID DNA on Verizon Wireless. Apparently HTC will keep the Butterfly brand name, although we hope it adds some sort of distinguishing factor to let consumers know it has been upgraded in some way.
“We have no plans for the time being to change the name of the series,” HTC chief marketing officer Ben Ho told Focus Taiwan in a recent interview. Ho did not say what sort of hardware we can expect from the successor, but we’re expecting Sense 5 and hopefully the same 4-ultrapixel camera on the HTC One. Unfortunately that camera has been the cause for delays of the One, however.
Ho also recently said that HTC is ditching its “quietly brilliant” marketing term for a more aggressive slogan.
