Spotify is gearing up for a new marketing campaign with its first ever batch of commercials. The firm’s new clips are titled “For Music,” “Her Song” and “Getting Weird” and each celebrates a love for music. The first commercial, “For Music” will debut during The Voice tonight on NBC, Spotify told TechnoBuffalo.
The clips are a bit bizarre, and we wonder if Spotify might not have been better off showing off the sharing capabilities, joint playlists, $10 all-you-can-eat monthly subscription plans and more. Instead we just see a body surfer being hoisted into the air over and over again, or a man dancing in his boxers at a party.
Still, we know that Google may soon offer its own music subscription service, and the area is already crammed with competitors ranging from Microsoft to Rdio and even Pandora (in some respects).
