iOS 7 Concept Videos Sport New Notifications, Revamped Lock Screen

We hope that Apple’s next operating system, likely dubbed iOS 7, will offer plenty of new features. It’s about time that the company introduces some innovations that bring its notifications, lock screen and other areas of the phone up to speed with Android and other mobile platforms.

A concept artist recently envisioned what iOS 7 would look like if these changes were made. The artist crafted a video that shows off a fully functional lock screen with actionable alerts. If you receive a text message, for example, you can respond from the lock screen (presumably with your voice because it doesn’t show a keyboard).

A second video also conceptualizes a revamped area at the top of the screen that would allow you to easily change tracks of an album that was playing, and a completely redesigned and cleaner calendar.

We’re impressed with what we see, and we hope Apple has similar ideas in store.
