Square Enix has announced that Deus Ex: Human Revolution is getting a new edition specifically for the Wii U. It’s going to be aptly named Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Director’s Cut. This is, according to the release from Square Enix, the “definitive version” of Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
Normally, the “Director’s Cut” moniker implies that this version of the product comes with all sorts of bells, whistles and refinements. What’s better about this edition of Deus Ex: Human Revolution? Just about everything I found off-putting about the original.
Tongs’s Rescue mission and the entire Missing Link chapter have also been integrated seamlessly into the narrative flow of the Director’s Cut. Other core DEUS EX: HUMAN REVOLUTION augmentations include overhauled boss fights, refined game balance and combat, improved AI, and striking visual improvements which make this edition the best looking and most immersive Deus Ex experience available.
We’re talking about a better looking Deus Ex with re-done boss fights and stronger AI? This might be the first Wii U re-release I actually buy. As for Wii U specific mechanics? Here’s the rundown on those:
The Director’s Cut offers a full slate of Wii U™ GamePad features including touch-screen hacking, interactive map editing, augmented sniping, grenade throwbacks and many other neural hub enhancements. Along with in-depth Miiverse™ integration, the Director’s Cut also provides access to developer commentaries and in-game guides.
No release date was penciled in by Square Enix, but they did not that the game is “coming soon.” We’ll have more on the Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director’s Cut as it comes.
