According to sources at T-Mobile’s headquarters in Bellevue, Wash., layoffs have already begun in the lead up to the merger with MetroPCS.

With the Department of Justice having said on Wednesday that it has no objections to the proposed T-Mobile merger with MetroPCS, the Seattle Times is reporting that conference rooms in the Bellevue headquarters have been reserved for “integration” meetings on Thursday. Sources within the offices are claiming that potentially as many as one¬†hundred¬†jobs will be cut in this first round, mainly from the marketing group.

If true, this is a bold move by T-Mobile as to how much confidence T-Mobile has in the deal going through seeing as MetroPCS shareholders have already gone on record against the proposal. The merger is far from a done deal at this point, but apparently the Magenta network doesn’t want to waste any time.

T-Mobile had no comment on the report.
