Google Maps for iPhone Updated with Better Search Options

Google Maps for the iPhone is already incredible and today the company announced that it’s making the experience even better. The new version of Maps for iOS now allows you to search for a contact’s address, provided that it’s stored in Google Contacts, and provides a unique icon-based way to search.

As the image above suggests, you can open the search bar, tap an icon for coffee, and quickly see all of the cafes around you. Or you can tap a gas icon to see gas stations. This means Google has completely eliminated the need to actually type “coffee shop” or “gas station.”

Google also said that Maps for iPhone is now available in English in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Lebanon, Egypt and Bahrain.
