CD Projekt RED released a few new in-game screenshots for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt this morning. Along with them came a little discussion about the general story and direction the upcoming entry in Geralt’s tale.
The game will also pack environments “30 times larger” than the ones in The Witcher 2.
Here’s what Adam Badowski, head of CD Projekt RED, offered up in the press release concerning decisions, characters and the story in The Witcher 3.
“The Witcher 3 is full of impactful decisions, and gamers will choose between storylines that exclude one another in a single playthrough, ensuring extensive replay value. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt crowns the trilogy with the main narrative, revolving around Geralt’s search for his loved ones and his conflict with the Wild Hunt. As players travel through the game, they visit lands with their own unique atmosphere, communities and memorable characters. CD Projekt RED didn’t create an open world with a singular theme, but concentrated on delivering diversified and engaging environments, 30 times larger than those in The Witcher 2.”
The screenshots you see below are from the islands of Skellige, “one of the lands the players will visit during their adventures.” The release that shared the assets indicated that they come from an early build of the game.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was recently confirmed for the PC, PlayStation 4 and all next-gen platforms in 2014. We take that to be whatever Microsoft has planned for the next Xbox.
