A new report from the Taipei Times suggests Samsung will employ multiple processors in different Galaxy S IV variations when it’s unveiled on March 14. A previous rumor claimed Samsung might ditch its own Exynos because of manufacturing issues, but this new report actually says the company’s octa-core chip will indeed be included in the international model.

Similar to previous Galaxy S3, Samsung is expected to adopt multiple solutions for the application processor and baseband chips in its Galaxy S4, which will be unveiled in New York on March 14.

If Taipei Times is correct, folks in the U.S. will get hold of the S IV model with Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chip, the same in the HTC One. Manufacturing issues or not, Samsung’s S IV event is shaping up to be one of the biggest this year, no matter what chip is or isn’t powering the device’s guts. We’re only a few weeks away from knowing for sure.
