Assassin's Creed IV Boxart

Well, the next Assassin’s Creed has just been officially announced. A lot of gamers and reviewers praised Assassin’s Creed III‘s boat combat mechanics. It seems that praise went to the top of the pile at Ubisoft and dictated the flow of this series.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag has been confirmed for the PC, Xbox 360, Wii U and PlayStation 3. The boxes you see above are the current boxart for the game.

We have not heard whether or not this will launch on next-gen consoles like the PlayStation 4, but that information might just have been made official yet.

The fact that this entry in the series packs a brand new number means, more than likely, that we’ll see a brand new hero and a brand new locale. Furthermore, the PlayStation 3 version of the game packs an additional 60 minutes of gameplay. Platform exclusives, man, so weird.

We’ll have more on Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag as it comes.
