Specs for a new HTC handset codenamed “Tiara” have popped up sporting the first known use of Windows Phone 8 General Distribution Release 2 (GDR2).
According to a new leak from the always reliable evleaks – reporting for Unwired View – HTC is working on a new Windows Phone 8 device currently codenamed Tiara. From the specs it appears to be a mid-range handset, but the intriguing aspect is it does appear to the first phone that will hit the market with the second version of Windows Phone 8. It appears this one is set for release in May, so even if this device isn’t your cup of tea, it does look as though that is the time frame we can expect to see the new version of the operating system popping up.
On its own merits, Tiara will have a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 4.3-inch WVGA Super LCD2 screen, 8GB of internal memory, 8MP camera and an 1800mAh battery. As we said, it sounds pretty mid-range, but not a horrible jumping on point for those who wish to try out the Windows Phone platform.
