HP Slate 7 Android Tablet First Look!

by Todd Haselton | February 24, 2013

HP surprised us a bit today when it announced its first Android tablet, the Slate 7. We quickly ran to the company’s booth during Mobile World Congress to get a look at the tablet. We’re impressed by the low price point — it will cost just $169 when it launches — but its relatively low-res screen leaves a bit to be desired.

Still, we’re fans of the red model that we got to hold, since it strays away from the typical black/white/gray tablets that we see so frequently. HP also didn’t tinker with Android at all, so you get a fresh Jelly Bean experience. We’ll leave our full judgements for the final model to hit the market this April. In the meantime enjoy our gallery and video.
