Facebook for iOS Update Introduces Support for Free Calling

Facebook’s main app for iOS, like Messenger, has been updated to support free user-to-user calling, meaning you can ring every single one of your friends on the social network. All one billion of them. Really, though, this just means it’ll be easy to contact friends and family for a quick chat

The feature is available over both Wi-Fi and cellular data, and all that’s required is opening up a chat and tapping the “i” button in the top-right corner. After that, simply tap Free Call, and you’ll be chatting with Craig from high school who you haven’t seen in many years.

Right now, free calling only works in the U.S. and Canada, but this is Facebook we’re talking about, so we’d expect the feature to travel abroad at some point.
