Netflix released a new version of its iOS application for the iPhone, iPod and iPad on Thursday that provides better content control. The company promises a better playback experience, in addition to a new ability to see the title of whatever you’re watching in the iPad player. Simply tap the screen and the title of the show or movie will pop up on the top of the display.

Netflix also said it’s re-introducing the zoom icon in full screen mode, so you can quickly zoom in or out. Finally, it said it tweaked the position of its play and pauseĀ controlsĀ  as well as its back button, so it’s easier to skip forward or play/pause your content.

The update is free, although you’ll need to be a Netflix Instant subscriber in order to use it. The subscription starts at $7.99 per month.
