Gaikai, the company Sony purchased last year, has scooped up three very telling domains that adds further weight to the PlayStation 4’s streaming aspirations. Back on Feb. 15, right when that streaming rumor hit, playstation-cloud.com, playstation-cloud.org and ps-cloud.net were all registered by the Sony-owned company. The purchases round out Sony’s cornucopia of already owned domains, including playstationcloud.com.
This doesn’t 100 percent confirm the existence of streaming in Sony’s upcoming announcement on Feb. 20, but it certainly suggests as much. Gaikai’s attempt to grab the last remaining domains could be a strategy to lock up a dominating Web presence of the unannounced service.
Sony’s “future of the PlayStation” announcement is all set for tomorrow, where TechnoBuffalo will be in attendance. Will PlayStation Cloud be a big part of the show? It seems that way. We’ll find out soon.
