Assassin’s Creed III: Tyranny of King Washington Launch Trailer

Assassin’s Creed III: Tyranny of King Washington tells America’s ultimate “What if…” story as her most important Founding Father succumbs to an unnatural lust for power and changes his presidency into an all powerful monarchy.

The only one who stands a chance at righting the wrongs and restoring the natural order of things is none other than Assassin Creed III‘s protagonist Ratohnhaké:ton. Retconned of all his assassin abilities, only the supernatural ways of his native tribe can save the newly formed America from its power hungry leader.

This launch trailer of this three-part add on campaign shows some of the difficult choices Ratohnhaké:ton must make, turning his blade on former allies and taking a mission to end the life of a man he trusted. It’s a story that honestly sounds far more engaging and complex than the actual history Connor takes part in during the main game.

If not that, than it’s certainly more interesting than the whole science fiction twist the series has been burdened with up until this point.

The first episode, The Infamy, is available today, while Episode 2, The Betrayal, and Episode 3, The Redemption, will hit digital distribution channels March 19th and April 23rd respectively. Release dates are for the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 versions. No date it known for the Wii U build yet.
