An Apple smartwatch might be the company’s next big move, and sources say the project is “beyond the experimentation phase.” According to Bloomberg, the Cupertino company has about 100 people—engineers, managers, marketing—working tirelessly on the iWatch, leading sources to believe an actual product is on the horizon, and not just something being talked about.

The “wristwatch-style computer” is a product many believe will fill a gap in Apple’s ecosystem, with potential features that could mimic that of the iPhone. The smartwatch craze seems to be taking hold as people seek companion devices for their smartphones and tablets—Pebble is the most notable brand right now, a company Apple may be interested in acquiring.
