Samsung Trademarks New Galaxy and ATIV Devices

It doesn’t look as though Samsung is going to be giving up the Galaxy S names any time soon if it follows through on the names it has filed for trademark claims.

PocketNow has found that Samsung has filed for multiple new Galaxy product names which, from the sounds of them, will be low to mid-range phones. The names include Galaxy S Kit, Galaxy S Mate, Galaxy S Impact and Galaxy S Act.

Over on the Windows 8 side of Samsung product lines, the name ATIV Zexy has been filed for, but there is no indication of what type of product this will be. It could be a phone, tablet or laptop at this point. What we do know is the name is pretty much groan worthy and we’re not sure what the thinking was behind that choice.

As with all trademark filings there are no guarantees that products will come to market with these names.
