Limited Edition Red BlackBerry Z10 Unveiled, Dev Alpha C Device Incoming

by Todd Haselton | February 5, 2013

BlackBerry officially announced a limited edition red BlackBerry Z10 on Tuesday. The device looks super sexy, but it’s not going to be available to the general public. Instead, BlackBerry will provide the devices to developers who opt to turn in their BlackBerry Alpha B and BlackBerry Alpha C developer devices. Those developers will also have to have an application that has been published to the BlackBerry World store, and there are only 12,000 limited edition units in total.

The Waterloo-based smartphone maker also announced that its new BlackBerry Alpha C device is incoming and will allow developers to create applications that will eventually be available for the BlackBerry Q10, when it launches later this year. As a refresher, the Q10 will be the first BlackBerry 10 device to launch with a full hardware QWERTY keyboard.

Are you one of the qualified developers who will receive a BlackBerry Z10? Give us a shout, we’d love to see some images once you receive one.
