iOS 6.1 Jailbreak Slams Servers – 270,000 Downloads Already Reported

The kind folks over at Evads3rs released an iOS 6/iOS 6.1 jailbreak earlier today and the release was met with instant popularity. In fact, the group noted that its servers have been slammed with more than 270,000 downloads since the jailbreak tool went live at noon EST on Monday. We still can’t get the site to load on our end.

Is it a sign that Apple needs to add additional features to its next operating system? It seems to be the case, at least among those who like to tweak their iPhones, iPad and iPod touch units.¬†TechCrunch¬†event noticed that 22.8 million unique devices accessed the Cydia store in the last two months alone, which just goes to show that a notable percentage of iOS users are looking for more options than Apple currently provides. (Or they’re interested in installing pirated apps).
