Intel: New Atom-Powered Android Smartphones On Display at MWC

by Todd Haselton | February 1, 2013

Intel’s move into the smartphone market has been fairly slow, even though phones such as the Motorola RAZR i are already equipped with its processors. The company may finally be putting some extra muscle behind its chips, however; it announced recently that it’s going to show off new Atom-powered Android smartphones during Mobile World Congress next month. The Verge said they will be powered by the chip maker’s new dual-core Atom Z2580 processor.

Intel only said it’s going to showcase its “latest smartphone technologies,” however. It didn’t clarify if that means we’re only going to see a white label device or if we’ll see a phone that’s already prepared to enter the market. TechnoBuffalo will be attending the show and we’ll bring you as much news on this front as we can.
