SimCity Digital Deluxe Edition Gets Big Price, New Trailer

If you’re looking to pony up the scratch for the new SimCity that hits this spring, you have a decision to make. Do you go for the standard version? Or, do you pre-order on Origin and go for the Digital Deluxe Edition. The new trailer from Maxis and EA above tries to convince you to go for the latter.

While we’re on the subject, you can read our preview of the SimCity closed beta that we published today.

All of these extra goodies will be available as part of the Digital Deluxe Edition of SimCity. The price? $79.99. Yowzers. The standard edition will sell for the typical $59.99. As shown off in the trailer above, buy the Digital Deluxe Edition and you get the German City Set, the French City Set and the British City Set. The gallery below shows what each bit of content looks like.

Do those three things warrant an extra $20? I’m not sure.

SimCity will be available starting March 5th, 2013 for both the PC and Mac platforms.
