When Nokia debuts its upcoming “true PureView Windows Phone” later this year, the company will also unveil a device comparable to the Lumia 920 for Verizon. According to sources speaking with The Verge, the carrier’s Lumia device will have “similar specifications” to that of the 920—Nokia is currently referring to the handset as “Laser.”
Once the device does launch, sources say Microsoft will make a huge marketing push for the Laser. On Verizon’s end of the bargain, the carrier is expected to sell the device alongside its best devices—handsets such as the iPhone 5, Galaxy Note II, and so on.
For those anticipating a Lumia-esque device on Verizon, your day is edging closer. Nokia, as expected, refused to comment on the rumor. As of now, it’s unclear if the Laser will adopt Nokia’s reported upcoming aluminum design language, or stick to the solid polycarbonate unibody it’s so fond of.
