Samsung Mobile Head JK Shin Allegedly Confirms Galaxy Note 8 for MWC Release

What will Samsung announce during next month’s Mobile World Congress show? We don’t know yet, but the firm’s head of mobile allegedly said that we can expect the Galaxy Note 8 to make an official appearance. The news comes from South Korea’s iNews24, which recently met with JK Shin during a dinner at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Seoul.

The statement matches a recent report that also confirmed a MWC reveal. The tablet is expected to run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and will feature a 1280 x 800-pixel display, a 5-megapixel rear camera, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera and 2GB of RAM. We’re alsoe expecting a quad-core processor.

Our translation may be off, but Shin also appeared to confirm that Samsung will not unveil the Galaxy S IV during Mobile World Congress. We’re guessing that device will have its own event sometime this spring – in line with the Galaxy S III launch last year. We’ll be attending Mobile World Congress, so stay tuned for our full coverage.
