Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1-inch and 7-inch versions) are both getting upgraded to Android 4.1, the company announced on Friday. News like this always sounds so sweet on Fridays. Better yet, the Korean company’s excellent Premium Suite is coming along for the ride, too, bringing such benefits as Multi-Window support, Air View, and a glut of S Pen features. Welcome to why Samsung is one of the more exciting and innovating companies around.

The update for the Note 10.1 in particular has been a long time coming, but better late than never. Bottom line: if you own either of these slates, prepare to get familiar with plenty of really cool new features. Not to mention the buttery smooth addition of Jelly Bean, which in of itself is a big deal. The update is available today, Samsung said, so charge up those batteries and be on the lookout.
