Instagram’s public relations nightmare from the end of last year seems to have had little to no effect on overall usage. According to an official page full of impressive statistics, Instagram says that there are now 90 million monthly active users on the platform, with 40 million photos being upload per day. For a company that only just started off toward the end of 2010, the numbers are pretty mind-blowing.
In addition to the crazy amount of users, Instagram—now owned by Facebook—says that there are around 8,500 likes per second, and 1,000 comments per second. That’s an insane amount of activity. The application, despite the flack it gets for the slathering of filters, is an incredible utility for sharing, which is why we decided to join the platform earlier this year. Instagram is going just fine, folks. Just fine.
