Most of us are still running Apple’s iOS 6 operating system, but iOS 6.1 is expected to launch in the near future. The hint was provided by Stefan Esser, who said that iOS 6.1 Beta 4 will “expire in 12 days,” according to¬†GottabeMobile. So what’s that mean? Well, basically that developers without the beta won’t be able to install it.

However, it also provides a hint that, perhaps, iOS 6.1 is ready for release to the general public. We’re expecting bug fixes and maybe a few new, smaller features added to the operating system. Before that happens, though, Apple will likely release iOS 6.1 Gold Master (GM). So it will depend how long it takes for that release to get the green light before we, as consumers, can experience the new OS.
