If Nokia has it their way, their burgeoning relationship with AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile is about to get stronger. While speaking at CES 2013 last week, Chris Weber, Nokia Executive Vice-President of Sales and Marketing, claimed that the manufacturer wants to see a range of products on all of its carrier partners. While Sprint was notoriously absent, Weber mentioned AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile:
“We constantly evaluate, in the U.S. market or whatever market, what partners we’re with,” he said. “Right now our focus is really on broadening the portfolio with AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile.”
As expected, Weber also touched on the ecosystem challenge – a buzzword of sorts in the industry:
“This ecosystem game is not for the faint of heart,” he said. “It’s difficult. It takes massive investment.”
The Nokia Lumia 920 is a fantastic Windows Phone, and while the apps ecosystem isn’t quite to the point of Android and iOS, we’d certainly like to see similar high-end devices on other carriers.
