We saw quite a few activity trackers walking the many halls of CES, but one of the biggest names was absent from the annual tech carnival: Nike. The company has built up quite the following with its excellent FuelBand, and to keep up its pack-leading pace (ha), Nike is allegedly working on the next-generation of wearable trackers.
According to Gizmodo, who spoke with a source at Nike, the company is actively testing thinner FuelBands on its Beaverton, Oregon campus. Not only that, but an announcement is being prepared for the near future, so we’ll soon know what they’re all about.
The source didn’t share what other features we could expect out of the FuelBand. A mere change in thinness is nice, but Nike needs to Just do it and push the envelope a little further to stay ahead of the curve. If LG can cram a heart rate monitor into its Smart Activity Tracker, can’t Nike do something similar? I sincerely hope so.
