T-Mobile CEO Calls AT&T’s NYC Network “Crap”

I live in NYC and 4G LTE generally works fine for me, but T-Mobile’s CEO is coming out swinging during a press conference at CES. In fact, he just asked the press if anyone was from New York. Several of us raised our hands, and he asked if anyone used AT&T. He then asked if we like it.

“Or course you don’t,” he said. “Their network is crap. You’ll see us come with some swagger and some aggressive attitude [this year]. All in fun, of course.” And the jokes didn’t stop there.

T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network is indeed fast in New York City, but it depends where you are. The carrier announced that it’s going to push its 4G LTE network to 200 million pops by the end of 2013, so we’ll see how this turns out.
